Fall Time in Philly by Canaan Ng

Last fall I got to explore philly and take in the rich colours of fall. I got to visit the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania (large garden with beautiful landscapes), Ridley Park where I got to take a nice sunday evening stroll with friends From Tenth Presbyterian, and West Fairmount Park and Belmont Plateau. Here are a few pictures I tried capturing the colours of fall!

New Place, New Friends: Grafitti Pier by Canaan Ng

Back in October, I was able to convince a few new friends from my church here in Philly to check out the Grafitti Pier with me. It was fun to go out and take some pictures in a new environment with new friends. I found out when you ask someone to pose for pictures, their character and personality really shines through. Either they are very energetic and dynamic, serious or slightly shy or just epically cool. A photograph can capture more than a face, it can capture emotion, personality and I truly believe it is an art. It is an art I am still trying to learn and explore but it is such a fun medium to play with especially when photographing friends and exploring!

Calgary Stampede Lights by Canaan Ng

Got to spend some time at the Stampede with some friends. Ate some yummy unhealthy food, saw some horses, chickens, pigs and sheeps, avoided buying random stuff at the BMO center, lost some money at the midway games and last but not least, took some long exposure pictures once it got dark. Here are a few of my favourites. I didn't have a tripod with me so some pictures were not as sharp. These were taken with a Canon G7X in manual mode around 1' to 2'' exposures. The lights on rides did all the hard work. :)
